The protagonist awakes on a cold beach as the only survivor, the wreckage and bodies lie around. After walking inland he finds a fortified town called Skjallhaven, during the night the settlement is attacked. Recognizing the protagonist as a mighty warrior the people ask for his help in the battle, he reveals he was a general and co-ordinates the defense. The champion of the enemy tribal forces faces the protagonist in single combat and is killed.

Wind tussled and stained with majic
A castle towers round
Skjallhaven place of war
In through high gates
The exile treads
As day drowns in night
Her enemies attack
